The Amount Which the Banks Legally Have to Pay due to Dishonored Cheque has been Increased

Payment Liability of Banks due to Dishonored Cheque has been Increased 19 January 2018

With the Communique Amending the Communique on Publication Form of Cheque Books and Determination of the Amount Which the Banks are Liable to Pay to Holder (No:2010/2) (“the Communique”) published in the Official Gazette dated 19.01.2018 and numbered 30306; the amount, which the drawee bank is liable to pay in case of a dishonored cheque, has been increased to 1.600,00-TL(one thousand and six hundred Turkish Liras) from 1.410,00-TL (one thousand four hundred and ten Turkish Liras). Such amendment will come into force as from the date of 29/01/2018. The Communique can be reached through a following link :
