The Industrial Property Law numbered 6769 Entered into Force 7 June 2017
The Industrial Property Law numbered 6769 (“Law”) entered into force by its promulgation in the Official Gazette dated 10.01.2017 and numbered 29944. Prior to the publication of the Law, several statutory decrees regulated the intellectual property rights. Pursuant to Article 191 of the Law, relevant statutory decrees were abolished.
Title of the Turkish Patent Institute was changed as “Turkish Patent and Trademark Authority”. One of the most remarkable amendments made by the Law is that patent system without examination was repealed.
