Personal Data Protection Guide Has Been Prepared 22 January 2018

Under the Article 12 of the Law 6698 on Protection of Personal Data (“Law No. 6698”), data controllers are obliged to take all necessary measures in order to prevent unlawful processing of personal data and unlawful access to personal data as well as to ensure the retention of personal data. However, no further explanation is made by the Law regarding what is the content of these measures. In order to fill this gap and provide guidance to data controllers, Personal Data Protection Guide “the Guide” which has been prepared by Personal Data Protection Authority (“the Authority”) has been published in the website of the Authority.
